$42.50 Per Person Aged 13 & Over Ordering The Regular Menu
The regular menu is the meal as prepared for the evening with no special
dietary needs or requests for allergies or personal seasonings,
additions, subtractions, or preferences. Each evening has a vegetarian
alternate exclusively for the main course which can be selected and at the
same price as the regular menu. Beyond this vegetarian alternate for the
main, other requests are considered special dietary need as described
below. Special requests including the choice of the vegetarian alternate
need to be indicated when reserving.
$32.50 Per Person Aged 3 to 12 Ordering The Regular Menu
Same considerations as above.
$25.00 Per Person Aged 3 to 12 Ordering The Children's Menu
We have a children's menu for Children between the ages of 3 and 12
who prefer not to eat the regular meal. Special requests for the
children's menu need to be indicated when reserving.
$47.50 Per Person Ordering A Special Dietary Needs Menu
If you have special dietary needs, allergies or preferences beyond
what is described above and require a custom prepared meal.
$60.00 Per Person Ordering A 100% Customized Menu
One benefit of having a restaurant based on this paradigm is that we
can in fact prepare "100% customized to your specifications meals" with
your choice of ingredients, spicing, method of cooking, and we are happy
to do it. The bad news is it cannot be done at the price of our regular
menu, not because the ingredients or the custom meal is superior, but
simply because all of the economies and efficiencies of our approach are
lost. In fact the regular menu at $42.50 is well worth a $60 meal at the
vast majority of other establishments, including this one. This is why
you will see so much of our feedback on dining mention outstanding
value. But we love to do this as it "invigorates" our chefs :-) A few
rules apply: 1) We need to know a week ahead of time 2) a 20% gratuity
will be added to your bill
The Upfront Bad News
About Cancelations & No-Shows
Dinning at Simplicity is very much like attending a private dinner
party in a friend or relative's home at which you are one of the guests
of honor, and where 72 wanted to attend and only 36 could because of
space and food limitations. Each meal, each menu, is prepared
specifically for the persons reserving, the seating plan prepared and
the dining room staffed accordingly. The Good News: It is a
uniquely enjoyable experience with a level of caring and personal
service you thought had vanished in today's world. Among other things,
we do not ever overbook or leave you hovering waiting for your table as
we fish feverishly in the nearby Watauga River for excuses. The Bad
News: Last minute cancelations less than 2 days prior to your
reservation mean all of that preparation and food will have gone to
waste, and a lot of fresh and costly ingredients thrown away. In fact we
will have gone to market and spent the funds to ready your meal, and
those funds will also go to waste. We will have reserved a place for you
that we could have offered several times to someone else, as we usually
sell out each evening and have to stop taking reservations well ahead of
the day. If you have an emergency, and it can happen, let us know early.
We take our clients very seriously and go to great lengths to provide
the highest quality ingredients and preparation along with every
consideration and respect. Imagine telling your grandmother you were
coming for Sunday Lunch, she prepares a feast, and you don't show and
don't call and then three months later you call to tell here you are
coming again. Part of dining at Simplicity is also about being simple,
simple old-fashioned manners, and mutual-respect, as it would be when
you dine at a friend or relative's home. This issue is so crucial in a
restaurant of this kind that most require a non-refundable credit card
deposit to take your reservation,
