The Mast Farm Inn is a mountain country inn and fine
dining restaurant, in the Valle Crucis Historical
District of Watauga County, North Carolina, which has
been welcoming guests since the 1800s.
The Inn is in
a serene rural valley surrounded by farmland, mountains,
rivers, streams, waterfalls, and is within minutes of
Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, Beech Mountain, Sugar
Mountain, Linville, Boone, Grandfather Mountain, and The
Blue Ridge Parkway, in the Western North Carolina High
Country. While there have been extensive historically
accurate renovations and improvements ~ tubs-for-two,
air conditioning, contemporary cuisine and fine wines ~
the hospitality remains rural mountain, traditional,

The Mast Farm Inn sits on eleven acres in the heart
of Valle Crucis, marks the starting boundary of the
Valle Crucis historic district, has flatlands, hills and
a riverfront on the Watauga River. The Mast Farm Inn
vegetable and flower gardens have been organically grown
since the summer of 1997. We have chosen to grow
without the use of chemical fertilizers, herbicides, and
pesticides for a variety of reasons. Primarily, we are
aware that the use of chemicals on agriculture is
damaging both to human populations as well as to all
other life around us.
With the use of organic practices, including raised
beds and companion plantings, we have created mini
ecosystems in the garden that are full of animal and
plant diversity. Our soil is healthy and therefore our
plants are as well, and we are able to serve the
freshest and highest quality food to our guests.
Our vegetable garden encompass approximately
one-quarter of an acre. In them, we grow a wide variety
of primarily heirloom and open pollinated plants
including such staples as lettuce, spinach, carrots,
peas, beets, basil and other herbs, raspberries,
tomatoes, beans, squash, and potatoes. We also have
flowers galore throughout the garden and the rest of the
grounds.
Attractive Locations & Sites For Weddings At
The Mast Farm Inn We have locations and sites available which can do
weddings as small as two (minimum requirement) to 5000
people. By far the best location for a mid-sized wedding
of 40-150 is The Barn & The Barn Terrace.

important rivers, flows through the lower portion of The
Mast Farm Inn. Properly prepared and decorated, the
River Landing can make for a fantastic location.

The small pond is a great spot for a small wedding and
is very photogenic. You can get married on the stone terrace, or on the dock, and
have the guests attend the ceremony "from across the
pond" a few yards away.

pedigreed paint horse and her corral is sometimes
dressed up pretty nicely for weddings.

paint horse, and while "original" the idea of getting
married out by her stable, in the field behind the barn,
could definitely appeal to outdoors lovers and provide
